Africa Program

This presentation is based on the book  Ao and the River  . Where the little boy child named Ao is chosen by the tribe in the town "Toguna" meeting (a gathering place where all in the village can speak their mind with no threat)  to go find water for a group that has had no rainfall for months. The river is dry and skies are dry and  the crops are dieing.

Ao learns, along with the people of the village, that cooperation can make many things happen that are beneficial to all.

The songs center around his adventures and his ultimate success in finding water for the families of the tribe.

This theme ties in to the 1st grade core and teaches the children about the importance of water, cooperation, the people of Africa the the value of each and every one of them.
